It is
with a very heavy heart and tear soaked cheeks that I send this email. Kollin Goodall with Troop 243 was shipped up to Wolfsons
Children's Hospital Wednesday April 2nd and has been diagnosed with
leukemia. So
far they have done dialysis to flush his blood and added new medication
to his chemotherapy. Kollin is fighting very hard and his white cells
are getting better. They plan to move him to a private room tomorrow.
Kollin is a Life Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is 14
years old and lives with both parents, he has 5 brothers and sisters and
attends Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. We all know Kollin's
grandfather - Lou Nester, who has been in scouting since the dawn of
time. Please show your support for these scouts and their families.
Please put Kollin and his family in your prayers.
Here
is what I need from you all: We need to cheer Kollin up. Please have
your Boy Scout Troop, Cub Scout Packs, OA Chapter, Venture Crews make
Get Well posters and have all the scouts sign. You can drop them off to
David Barfield and we will take them up to Kollin's mother or up to the
hospital. I would also like to try to put a fundraiser together to help
the mother with expenses of going back and forth to and from the
hospital. Kollin's father has Lou Gehrig's disease so they only have one
income and gas gets expensive going between St. Augustine and downtown
Jacksonville.
The
Boy Scouts of America Osceola District is trying to raise money for
Kollin Goodall's family to help with the expenses of traveling back and
forth and child care for the remaining 5 children at home while the
mother visits Kollin at Wolfson's. Please see the attached website
below.
People who wish to send donations can mail donations to the family at PO
Box 860028 St. Augustine Florida 32086-0028 in care of Lou Nester. Soon, we will be opening
accounts at Prosperity Bank and Bank of America for this family so
anyone wishing to donate can go to either bank. Both banks are working
as quickly as they can to get these accounts opened to make it more
convenient for donors.
Florida Times Union did an interview with the boy's mother, here is the

Plus many more, just do a search on Google for Kollin's name.
If you have any ideas on how to fund raise, please let me know. We need
to build a committee to take on this task.
Many of
you have heard on the news about his family getting the extension onto
their home.
Here is that website with Kollin and his family.

Thank You for all your
prayers and support for our fellow scout.
